Sustainability Statement
Motocross is a sport built on speed, performance, and grit—but traditionally, it has also come with a hidden environmental cost. One of the most significant and overlooked contributors to waste in off-road racing is the widespread use of single-use plastic tear-offs.
Each tear-off is a thin, disposable plastic film used to quickly clear vision during a ride. While convenient, these are typically discarded one by one on the track or trail during practice, racing, or recreational riding. Multiply that by hundreds of riders over thousands of rides, and the result is a staggering volume of non-biodegradable plastic litter—often left behind in natural environments where it cannot be easily retrieved or decomposed.
At AF, we developed our anti-stick goggle film to address this problem directly. Our film is engineered with hydrophobic and oleophobic surface treatments that actively repel water, mud, and debris—reducing the need for constant lens clearing and the use of multiple tear-offs per session. Unlike conventional tear-offs, which may only last a few minutes in wet or muddy conditions, our film is semi-permanent, designed to last for multiple rides or races under a wide range of environmental conditions.
Key Sustainability Benefits:
-
Reduces Single-Use Plastic Consumption: One film can replace dozens of traditional tear-offs, significantly cutting down on plastic waste generation per rider.
-
Durable and Reusable: The film remains effective through repeated exposure to mud, water, and impact, reducing frequency of replacement.
-
Non-Toxic Materials: Manufactured without harsh solvents or environmentally harmful coatings.
-
Easy Removal, No Residue: The film peels off cleanly with no adhesives left behind, making it simple to dispose of responsibly.
Our mission is to help riders perform at their best while minimizing the impact on the trails and communities we ride in. By adopting longer-lasting, high-performance alternatives like our goggle film, motocross athletes and weekend warriors alike can take meaningful steps toward greener riding practices.
We believe that sustainability and performance should go hand in hand—and with every ride, we're working to prove it.
